I've been very pleased with OneStepCheckout so far.

Their support team has been extremely helpful and the extension seems to work well. It looks simple, but actually does rather a lot. Personally, I feel the checkout experience is much more pleasant using OneStepCheckout than with the standard Magento one page checkout. I run a marketing agency and we strongly recommend that all Magento clients we take on implement this extension to maximize conversion rate and average order value. The higher our clients convert traffic the more revenue and ROI they see from their investment with us and although the prices can be a little high, the customer service that I have received from one step checkout is second to none. We have a Magento installation that has 4 different websites and they are all running OSC. All you need to do is have a different code for each domain and put that in the Admin area.
We also have merged the cart with the checkout to a single page and it works beautifully (our main site is www.desirablebody.co.uk - so come and look). Whilst OSC generally works out of the box, if you need to do some customisation it's pretty easy to find where it all needs to be done.
We have noticed quite a drop in Abandoned Baskets and also a drop in customers calling in with problems checking out - the standard One Page can confuse people.
All in all - an awesome addition to a Magento site. Any decent Magento setup should have this as a pre-requisite.Posted 5/5/2011 Developer Support Functions as described Usefulness -

This is one awesome checkout now that I got it set up just right.

I am probably one of the few that actually put it within my cart. I was informed by customer service to test the heck out of it because this is new functionality for version 3. I have tested it and it works good so far. They also informed me that they plan to do it a bit differently in version 4. I was told that instead of putting the checkout within the cart (as is the method now) they plan on moving the cart contents inside the checkout. I'm not sure why because mine works great so far. If I run into problems then I'll consider doing it the other way later but right now I see no reason to do this. Now this is now truly one step!!! I don't understand why more sites aren't doing this yet. No more "proceed to checkout" because it's right there in the customer's face with a few simple fields. I have a hunch this will greatly reduce cart abandonment. We'll see... only time will tell. AWESOME CHECKOUT! Posted 4/9/2011 Developer Support Functions as described Usefulness -

Fantastic support, even for irrelevant issues. I had to move my domain from coolkidsplay.com to vrolijkspeelgoed.nl for better search ranking. They helped me to make this module working on new site like within 20 minutes, everything done! And they provided sufficient information for totally irrelevant issue of my system. Thanks Jone!
